‘Ready for dinner’ Christmas cake

2kg (4lb) white sugarpaste, eg. Regalice Paste food colours in Dark Brown, Tangerine, Poppy Red and Holly Green 20cm (8in) round date and walnut fruit cake
6-8 tbsp apricot glaze or sieved apricot jam 1kg (2lb) marzipan
½ x 500g packet royal icing sugar 250g (8oz) white flower paste Dust colours in Gold, Chocolate and Silver Effect Rose water (alcohol-based, eg. Star Kay White)
Semolina Confectioner’s glaze
