New cookery show Food Glorious Food celebrates the best of British food so we thought – we really should have a few of these recipes!
The four judges, Loyd Grossman, Tom Parker Bowles, Anne Harrison and Stacie Stewart searched the whole country in stages to find the best regional dishes before pitting them against each other in an X Factor style content – very tense!
Cakes, puddings, mains – these judges have seen the lot and we’ve got the recipes. We selected 3 of the tastiest recipes from the show so you can cook along as you watch (or make before and settle in front of the TV with a tasty treat.)
These recipes are tried and tested by the contestants and are family favourites so you know they’re good’uns. Is the winning dish amongst our selections? Only time will tell! But one thing is for certain – they’re definitely winners with us. An apple toffee pie, a booze-filled tart and a classic raspberry cheesecake – out sweet tooth is going into overdrive just thinking about them!
We’ve even got a few scrumptious cake recipes from our favourite beehived judge too! Click through our gallery to see Stacie’s take on the red velvet, carrot cake and her delicious summer raspberry, rose and vanilla cake.
Marietta Owen chose to go before the judges with late sister Sonia’s tipsy tart. A rich, dense spinge topped with a brandy sauce – we’re sure the Food Glorious Food judges couldn’t resist!

Sally Cunningham stumbled across her jellied raspberry cheesecake creation by mistake – a very happy accident as it’s one of the most perfect looking cheesecakes we’ve ever come across.! The ruby red topping looks very, very tempting.

Kate McCully is the daughter of one of the creators of the banoffee pie so we think she’s a good person to adapt the recipe into apploffi pie – it’s apple and toffee, get it?

We know there are 4 judges on the show but the one we can’t get enough of at the moment is the lovely Stacie Stewart. Not only does she have an amazing beehive but she also loves cake as much as we do. We caught up with the Northern lass to get all her baking tips and her lovely recipes. Keep clicking to see her amazing cake recipes.
How do you make a cake skinny, you ask? Leave out the butter! Stacie’s skinny carrot meringue cake uses vegetable oil in the sponge and uses a light meringue topping instead of buttercream.

This raspberry, rose and vanilla cake just makes us long for warm summer days. It would be the perfect treat for a BBQ or picnic.

It’s a tricky one to get right but Stacie is convinced she’s mastered the red velvet cake. We think the results speak for themselves – hand us the red food colouring!
