Greet your guests with a cocktail. We love Gordon’s take on the classic gin and tonic, with cranberry juice, a squeeze of lime and lots of ice.
Start your dinner off in style with Gordon’s elegant smoked salmon nicoise with coddled eggs. ‘This looks so good it made my choice of meal for New Year easy,’ says goodtoknow user Susan.
You can make Gordon’s delicious pumpkin soup in advance. Just heat it up after your guests arrive and add the sauteed wild mushrooms and Parmesan garnish.
Gordon Ramsay’s beef Wellington is one of the most popular recipes on goodtoknow. This impressive British classic is given the Ramsay twist with a layer of Parma ham which says Gordon, ‘keeps the pastry nice and crisp’. The recipe is for 4 people, but will stretch to 6, especially if you serve lots of roasties alongside it.
Gordon’s honey-glazed carrots and parsnips are full of natural flavour and sweetness and go perfectly with the beef Wellington.
Wow! Gordon’s chocolate bombe is a total stunner, and we think it’s perfect for a New Year’s dessert. The outer shell of chocolate roll conceals a creamy homemade meringue filling, ‘or you could use a good-quality ice cream for a speedy cheat’s version,’ says Gordon.
Finish your New Year’s dinner with a pot of coffee and one of Gordon’s irresistible mint chocolate truffles. If your guests are too stuffed to finish them, have some cellophane bags and gift ribbon ready to turn them into pressies for them to take home.
