The Hairy Bikers are back for a brand new series and we couldn’t be more excited! Travelling around Asia, the pair will be munching on crispy duck, dining on dim sum and whipping up some of their very own Asian-inspired creations.
Si King and Dave Myers are back on the road again and this time it’s bigger and better than ever tackling the mother of all cuisines – Asian food.
The first episode sees the pair visit Hong Kong, where they discover the secrets of wok chi at one of the city’s street food stalls, master the art of a traditional Chinese breakfast, with a surprising British twist, and take part in a Chinese good luck ceremony which leaves the boys filled with hope and optimism about the rest of their trip.
And if that’s not enough, we’re set to see Dave demonstrate a way of making noodles by pole dancing (yes, we’re as confused as you are!) and the pair strip down to their pearly white vests – that’s a whole lot of Hairy Biker action right there! Oh, how we wish we could be travelling alongside them!
This time the Biker boys are heading to Thailand to discover why Bangkok has a reputation as the street food capital of the world. This episode sees them making classics like a Thai beef stir-fry, prawn and noodle salad and not forgetting spicy fish cakes, mmm…
They’ll also be rolling up their sleeves and helping out in a local school serving school dinners and visiting paddy-field workers to find out how rice is grown – sounds like we’re in for a right treat!
The hairy duo are continuing their journey around Thailand in this episode, visiting beaches, mountains and on their travels they even come across a coconut-picking monkey – how sweet!
They’ll be turning up the spice factor and taking part in a fishing expedition which will leave them both a bag of nerves. We’re very intrigued to see how each encounter inspires their cooking in this round.
You get more than what you bargain for in this episode. The Hairy Bikers’ strip down and sumo up ready for some serious sumo wrestling – eek!
On the food front, they’ll be demonstrating how to make pork katsu, cod in miso and not forgetting a Japanese classic, yakitori chicken.
In this episode, the Hairy Bikers are continuing their journey around Japan cooking up some classics including tofu dumplings and ramen noodles.
Of course it’s not just about the cooking with this pair as they visit a Japanese Buddhist temple, spend the night at the monastery and strip down (yes, again!) to bare bums as they jump into the mountain spa near Mount Fuji. Be prepared!
Last episode of the series:
We just can’t believe that the Hairy Bikers’ Asian Adventure is over – time flies when you’re having fun, ey?
The final episode sees the duo conclude their culinary journey around Asia in South Korea, sampling Korean barbecued food including fried chicken.
Of course, it’s not just about the food with this pair as Si discovers his love of archery and Dave practises on his dance moves, Gangnam style!
