Clarence House are said to be interested in making Wills, 26, more media savvy to prepare him for his 'public life'.
So they hope he'll complete a media placement next year once he finishes with the armed services.
'I think it would be a good idea for him to find out how the media works,' one source tells The Guardian.
'It's something I would like to see him do. He's learned about the armed forces. Now he has to learn about the state.'
And it's not just the newsroom that's being considered Wills might even be sent to spend time at the Foreign Office, in a government department or even the Church of England.
But Clarence House insist that no decisions have yet been taken.
Prince William is currently undergoing flight training with the RAF in Lincolnshire.
