Dave Peacock - the Dave in Chas 'n Dave - has decided to call time on the band after the death of his wife of 36 years.

The band's agent Barry Collings said: 'Dave has now decided that he will not be coming back because he wants to retire.'

Chas 'n Dave had over eight top 40 hits such as Gertcha, Rabbit, Snooker Loopy and Aint No Pleasing You during the late 1970s and early 1980s. And they released nine best-selling albums. Chas 'n Dave also released five official football songs including one about their beloved Tottenham Hotspur, Glory, Glory Tottenham Hotspur.

A little known fact about the duo is that they appeared on the Eminem hit My Name Is.

Chas 'n Dave had some live dates booked but Chas will carry on these dates with his own band, Chas And His Band, but he still has some hope that Dave will join him to play the hits again: 'It's not to say that Dave won't make a comeback at some point.'
