X Factor judge Cheryl Cole admits she felt uncomfortable appearing on Piers Morgan's Life Stories.
In the show, the Girls Aloud star opens up about her split from Chelsea footballer ex-husband Ashley for the first time as well as her battle with malaria.
'It felt wrong,' Cheryl, 27, told Radio 1 yesterday. 'I'm talking about stuff I'd never usually talk about to my closest friends.'
But Cheryl says being grilled by Piers was the only way she could set the record straight about false tabloid rumours
'I felt like I had to,' she explained. 'It had reached a point when things had got so ridiculous - rumours and stories - and people were starting to get this idea I'm somebody I'm not.
'It was to give myself a voice back.'
Cheryl's appearance on Piers Morgan's Life Stories will air on ITV1 on Saturday 23 October at 10pm.
