Malvern-born rapper Cher Lloyd and former Tesco check-out worker Mary Byrne fought it out for the final place in The X Factor final tonight.
They ended up in the bottom two after One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle learnt their places were safe.
Mary performed It's A Man's World first, then Cher - whose eye make-up had come off because she'd been crying - sang Britney.
Louis Walsh, 58, voted to keep Mary, 50, Dannii Minogue chose Cher, Cheryl voted for her girl, too - leaving the deciding vote to Simon Cowell.
He decided Cher should go through.
Simon, 51, has made no secret of his desire to win the show with his act One Direction but he's also a big fan of the 17-year-old.
Louis Walsh says: ‘Simon's totally crazy about Cher and he's already active in her future career.
'He feels she'll sell millions and make some serious money. She's had all the attention in the competition so far.'
'She has massive potential. Everyone knows it.'
