Cheryl Cole has reportedly been dumped as a judge on US X Factor and replaced by the show's co-host Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
American audience are said to have been struggling to understand Cheryl's Newcastle accent.
The feisty Geordie's lack of chemistry with fellow judge Paula Abdul, 48, has also been blamed for her exit from the show - and her own homesickness.
Nicole, 32 - who guested on The X Factor UK - always wanted to be on Simon Cowell's new judging panel and now she has her chance.
When Cheryl, 27, was originally tipped for the role, Fox TV executives were said to be concerned about her little known status across the pond - but Simon maintained that TV bosses were keen.
'They absolutely fell in love with her...they were desperate for her,' he insisted.
Representatives for Cheryl and X Factor didn't comment last night.
