Bronchitis symptoms

Average rating:
4 out of 5 star rating (202 ratings)
We've all read in the news that Cheryl Cole is bedridden, suffering from bronchitis. Would you know how to spot bronchitis symptoms and how to treat it?

goodtoknow says: There are two types of bronchitis; acute and chronic. Acute bronchitis is a very common viral infection, the main symptoms are a cough and fever. Take painkillers, have lots to drink and you will feel a lot better within a few days, although the cough may last for a couple of weeks. Chronic bronchitis (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) affects people over 40 and is usually caused by smoking. Symptoms of chronic bronchitis, including breathlessness and wheezing, are similar to asthma, but if you don't smoke you're very unlikely to get it.
