My husband has to have soluble fibre as part of a special diet for bowel cancer. He adds Lamberts Eliminex crystals (£9.95 for 500g from www.expresschemist.co.uk) to soup and says he hardly notices it.

Always be prepared with questions for the surgeon before and after surgery. I spent a fortnight worrying about whether my bowel cancer is likely to come back until I simply asked him and I felt hugely relieved. It's always best to know.
