Keeping angina under control
My dad has terrible angina attacks in the night. His doctor recommended that he prop himself up in bed, keeping the pillow end of the bed about four inches higher than the feet. This way, more blood will collect in the feet, so not as much blood will go through his narrow arteries and cause the pain associated with an angina attack.

My husband takes hawthorn extract for his angina. It's supposed to help the heart function better. Since he's been taking it he's had less pain and the attacks are less frequent. He doesn't like taking tablets so he uses Bioforce Hawthorn tincture. It's £7.99 for a small bottle from www.healthypulses.co.uk but you only need 20 drops three times a day so it lasts ages.
