Battling anorexia

Battling anorexia
Average rating: 3 out of 5 star rating

If you suspect someone of being anorexic, don't accuse them of it outright. Approach the subject by starting your sentences with 'I'. For example, I'm worried about you because I've noticed that you've not been very happy lately.' It stops them from getting defensive and makes it more likely they'll turn to you for help.
Tina Farmery, 46, Hove, East Sussex

My daughter had anorexia for years, but even during it I persuaded her to take multi-vitamins to make up for some of the goodness she was missing from food. I used Holland and Barrett's Chewable Multi-vitamin Tablets, £3.99 for 60 tablets.
Miranda Tait, 54, Rochdale, Lancashire

unfortunately there aren't any quick fixes to your problem it's a case of perseverance weight goes on these areas first because thats where the vital organs are and need protecting it's usually only a year after reaching you normal biological weight and staying there this "weight" will disperse Also if you are still underweight which I guess you are your stomach will pertrude until the waist and torso have chance to catch up I also get the feeling from experience these areas will be your focus points and you are more sensitive to every little bit of flesh on them I say flesh not fat fat is only present in obesity until then it essential body matter good luck wishing you well luv sharon

I am currently recovering from anorexia and have been out of an eatting disorder unit for about a month and at times are doing well but then at other times i am really struggling. I was just woundering if any one can give me advice on weight gain as everything seens to be going on my tummy and my arms and the bottoms of my legs are still really thin. Also I would just llke to say that the people how help their families and freinds through this illness are fantastic people and desserve a medal as they are put under tremendus physical and emotional stress. they too are affected by the illness not only the idividula suffering.
