Battling high cholesterol
I was worried my cholesterol might be high like my dad's so I bought a Homechec Good and Bad Cholesterol test (£19.99, www.homechec.co.uk). I'm glad I did because my cholesterol was high and now I can sort it out.

A friend told me that eating a handful of almonds every day can help lower bad cholesterol and they're full of antioxidants too.

My doctor has recently informed me that my cholestral has gone up to 6.4 and has advised I start taking tablets. I do not want to do this yet, I would say I follow a healthy diet, very little fat intake (not completely, occasionally have a few biscuits and choc's) but who doesn't I am not a saint. I eat fruit and veg every day. Can any one help me before I take these tablets, high cholestral does not seem to follow in my family. One thing I wonder could be against me I suffer with Hot Flushes could this have any thing to do with my cholestral increase????
