Control hyperthyroidism

Eat lots of turnips, spinach, broccoli and beans if you've got an overactive thyroid, as all these vegetables contain elements that help stop the gland from producing too much thyroxine hormone.

I've got an overactive thyroid and take a Melatonin supplement to control it. It reduces the production of the hormone thyroxine, it's an antioxidant and it helps me sleep. I get mine from www.agestop.net and it's £9.45 for a six-month supply.
It's also supposed to slow down ageing - bonus!

I was diagnosed with an over active thyroid 2 weeks ago having had a blue light ride in an ambulance with a pulse of 220! I am taking beta blockers and thyroid tablets but I feel terrible! Both the consultant and my GP have assured me I will start to feel more human soon once the tablets take effect but I have come out in huge red itching wheals today - yet another side affect to deal with! Has anybody been through what I'm going through and come out the other end? Sorry to sound paranoid but I'm usually an active, fit, well person, and this has knocked me for six!
