Walking, jogging, stretching, taking a hot or cold bath, or massaging my legs before bedtime all help my restless legs, which also helps me sleep better.

My RLS drives me mad at night time which makes me tired and moody during the day. Then I found Sedorum: RLS Symptom Management capsules on the internet. It helps me sleep and calms me down. One month's supply costs £19.95 from www.peak-nutrition.co.uk.

I sufferd with RLS in my 20"s with my 3 pregnensies, and never had it again until I started menapause, I am 61, and it is horrible. My doctor prescribed MIRAPEX and it has truly helped. I also took the sleeping pill Lunesta with it, and have since stopped taking that and only take the MIRAPEX. I don't like taking pills, but this is the only one that has helped. I did the bar of soap thing, that does not work. I also recommended this Prescription to a friuend and it helped her.

I have RLS and have had it for many years. i have tried all sorts even hitting my legs with heavy objects to try and "change" the pain. I now take Ropinerole (3 to 4 mgs at night)and it has helped a great deal but it doesn't always work I also use vibration to ease the pain. I have a massage seat and i wrap it around my legs and the vibrations seem to interupt the pain pathway so it does not seem so extreme I also use a gel called power gel that is ketoprofen. neoroli oil and lavender oil i massage it into the most effected part of my legs. and it helps. but as the others will tell you it no joje and not everything works again some might work once or twice but its hit and miss. to be awake inthe middle of the night in excruciating pain is so soul destroying and debilitating then because of no sleep your off the following day so when night comes your already tired so coping is harder, its such a vicious circle. It is no trivial matter for those who suffer from it and condescending advice is really not helpful.

I find magnesium very useful. When it's very bad at bedtime,2 tablets will work within 20 minutes.

I too suffered with RLS for a long time. Until I found out from a mutual friend about a drug called Mirapexin (available only on prescription) I asked my doctor if I could try it wow it is wonderful I go to bed knowing I will sleep. Please try it.

I have had RLS for 50 years now and it has spoiled my life in many ways,. I take Ropinerol but it doesnt always work. I am writing this standing up as I have restless legs now. It's murder to cope with and I have to keep moving all day -so I m constantly tired but cannot rest.

Stop trivialising this condition. It's a degenerative neurological condition that has such extreme effects on peoples' lives that they are unable to live it normally. 7 quick fixes are great. But for someone who suffers with RLS they are short lived and don't even start to tackle the serious debilitating affects of this condition. Bev has suffered for years and knows the debilitating affects of RLS as it's affected both her and her family dramatically. Drs don't have a cure. RLS suffers are guinea pigs to testing more and more medications to find something that works. It's a draining, painful and heartbreaking situation watching someone you love have the life, purpose and passion sapped from them as they fight day after day just to get through it in tact without falling into a deep depression as they discover 'one more thing' that they can't manage anymore. And then to see their hope when they are handed their next mediation only to have them trashed as it either has unbearable side effects or simply doesn't work. This is not an easy condition to live with and not one to be taken lightly with the easy suggestion of '7 quick fixes.
