How to treat diarrhoea

How to treat diarrhoea
Average rating: 4 out of 5 star rating

After a nasty bout of diarrhoea last year, I keep a packet of Diareze Diarrhoea Relief (£2.39 from chemists) at home. It says it stops it in an hour and it's true!

If you've had diarrhoea, your body will have lost a lot of fluid. It's important to rehydrate your body. Try drinking black tea with sugar. The tea rehydrates as well as reducing inflammation in your intestines with its tannins. Sugar improves your body's ability to absorb essential salts and sugars after a bout of diarrhoea.

I have had diarrhoea for 4 weeks along with cramping feeling just before going to toilet. I have been to my JP twice. First a stool sample was taken and the result was clear. On second visit I had a rectal examination and was told that was ok and was told not worry as it can last for up to 6 weeks and it should clear its self. I am very concerned as I think this is too long. I go to the toilet about 4/5 times a day and the bowels are very loose.
