During the winter, I take St John's Wort every day. It's supposed to help lighten your mood and the combination of that and using my light box mean I hardly notice my SAD any more. I buy my tablets from www.nutricentre.com for £7.95 for 60.

Don't eat too many sweet and sugary things. Also watch how much sugar you put in your tea! The sugar will temporarily raise your mood and energy, but when that subsides your energy and mood will quickly plummet.
