Treat your rosacea

I was looking for a treatment for my rosacea and found that food containing the vitamin niacin can make my condition worse. I cut out all whole grain cereals and tuna, liver and dairy products and saw an improvement within a week.

I'm always on the lookout for things to reduce my rosacea. My current favourite is Fade Out Facial Redness Remedy. It's green-tinged to help disguise the redness so I wear it under make-up every day. (Fade Out Facial Redness Remedy, £5.95 for 50ml from www.expresschemist.co.uk).

I developed rosacea on my cheeks during the pregnancy of my second child and have had it now for 4 years. I am 35 and find it very embarassing. However if I exfoliate morning and night, it seems to keep it under control. Some weeks it can look horrendous. I do have tiny blood vessels on my cheeks that have been with me since i was very young and i am thinking about laser treatment to see if this could help the overall appearance.

i have rosacea on my cheeks mostly, my gp said it isnt severe enough to warrant the long term use of antibiotics but i find it embarrasing & feel as if people stare at me, ive been told to avoid certain foods but would like to know what foods to avoid, i know spicy should be avoided & caffeine & alcohol, ive given up citrus including tomatoes but would love to hear more from anyone who could help, as a rule i dont wear make-up but have been old about the green tint that can be applied under foundation? if it helps im a 46yr old woman.

Rosecea unfortunately is an inherited trait on the female side of my family, the greenshades in make up do help to disguise it and if you cant afford to buy the 'branded' ones i use a small amount of powdered eye shadow under face powder, only wear make up on special days as i also suffer with excess sweating and i rub it off any way . Im 55 and have had rosecea since i was 18
