'A stroke can sometimes affect a person's speech, leaving them knowing exactly what they want to say but being unable to find the right words, which can be very frustrating. Some stroke sufferers have found that singing words they can't otherwise speak can help, as singing uses a different part of the brain, which may be unaffected. Speech may slowly recover with therapy. Ask your GP for a referral.'
my grandad has had a stroke about a day or so ago and he was taken into hospital yesterday,he cannon speak, his vision is blurred and cannot feel the right side of his body,im very worried about the care hes getting,he saw a doctor last night around 11 and has just been moved to the stroke ward, but has not yet had a scan or any other care apart from being tucked in for the tenth time..they had said hed have to wait for scan for about a week but i have read stories on website than they should be given a brain scan as soon as possible isnt his condition just going to get worse ? hes always trying to get up and is not settled, why has he got to wait so long .
