Mind the side-effects with shingles
'Side-effects of drugs prescribed for shingles can give you a dry mouth. This is best dealt with by taking sips of water or fruit juice, or by using artificial saliva spray which is available on prescription. They can also make you feel a bit woozy at first. This usually wears off after a day or two, but this is why we start with a small dose and build it up gradually.'

I have shingles for the first time in my life. I don't think I have ever had chicken pox. I am not aware of having a poor immune system and consider myself healthy and lead an active life. I am 47 years old. How did I get shingles? I would also like to know if can you get shingles from someone who has a cold sore or is it a different virus?
