How heat can help period pain
'The pain of menstrual period pain is caused by a temporary reduction in blood flow to organs, causing local tissue damage and activating pain receptors. Heat [in the form of a bottle] doesn't just provide comfort and have a placebo effect, it actually deactivates the pain at a molecular level, in much the same way as pharmaceutical painkillers work.'

my daughter has just had her 11 birthday and she started her priods just before this, she was very lethargic and bled heavily during menstruation, i was advised by a health food store to give her evening primrose oil in liquid form as she cannot swallow tablets, i really just wanted to ask your advice and check weather this is safe to do considering her young age? i look forward to your reply thank you.
