Dr Ann Robinson, GP, on impetigo

Dr Ann Robinson, GP, on impetigo
Average rating: 4 out of 5 star rating

'Impetigo is a really common bacterial skin infection, where breaks in the skin get infected by a bacteria called staphylococcus, which is in the air but also lives in our noses. To stop impetigo coming back, ask your GP whether it's worthwhile taking a swab from the inside of the nose of each member of your family. If it's in your nose, you can use a cream for a week or so which will get rid of it. That will stop the endless cycle of impetigo.'
