Dr Roger Henderson, GP, on Athlete's Foot
'Athlete's Foot is common in all areas that get warm and sweaty, including the groin. Ask your doctor for an anti-fungal cream or buy one from your pharmacist. Don't forget to wash and change your underwear every day, too.'
Dr Roger Henderson, Shropshire GP, author and health columnist for Woman's Own

Hi! Just to add a bit more information to the information you hold about athletes foot. I had had athletes foot for a while and my GP queried it and did some tests for me, and proceeded to tell me I had type 2 diabetes just before christmas 2007. Apparently one of the areas which can be affected by the Diabetes is the feet. Particularly between the toes, as it is the perfect environment for them. The bacteria feed on the skin between the toes, this area can harbour a lot of sugar in the blood stream and this is also what the bacteria can feed on. So, if you have had a lot of athletes foot or you have it and it will not clear up, then get checked by your GP. Also eat less sweets and sugary things as this can affect your blood sugar levels badly. I am not saying every person who has athletes foot has diabetes, but it CAN / COULD be an indicator of something more serious if it will not clear up or it is continually returning, especially if you are not that sporty. Hope this helps and regards W. John Bates.

I tried everything even the tablets and creams from the doctors. Nothing that was bought or prescribed worked. Someone suggested I use vinegar to rub in between my toes. Worked like charm. Took a few weeks/month but it has gone. Now when I feel it itching I just use the vinegar again and it goes. Seems to be getting less frequent and I now dry between my toes which I never did.
