Dr Brian Lieberman, consultant at the Reproductive Medicine Unit, on infertility
'Couples [having IVF treatment] now have more chance of success than ever before. They need to make sure they are given the success rate that applies to women of their age. Some clinics will only take women up to the age of 38, so you need to make sure the figures you are looking at are ones that apply to your age group. You should also ask for the number of embryos used each time. There's a growing body of opinion that three embryos should only be returned to a woman's body in exceptional circumstances because of the risk of multiple births, which are more likely to fail. It is important to remember that if you have a multiple birth, you have an increased risk of having a handicapped child or having a pre-term birth.'

I have had Chlimydia UNFORTUNATELY a few times over the years(bad luck i'd say)The last time i caught it was shortly after my son's birth in July 2002from my patner then.I then 9 months later had to get "what was like warts" burnt off my right eye ,was that because of the infection going to my eye.I am worried my newly born then son could of caught it someway or another.
