Self help
There are various national groups which can help by giving information, advice and support (see below). They, or your doctor or practice nurse, may also be able to put you in touch with a local group for 'face to face' support.
You can also get leaflets, books, tapes, videos, etc, on relaxation and combating stress. They teach simple deep breathing techniques and other measures to relieve stress, help you to relax, and may ease anxiety symptoms.

Hi, ever since I can remeber I have had a fear of dying. It has become worse since I have had me children ages 5 & 3 months. I fear they will be taken early or I will be taken. I get really anxious. I f I have a headache or feel sick. sore throat etc I immediately think it's serious!!!! I fear this everyday and being 29 I feel I shouldn't be worrying like this. I am up the doctor's all the time to get reassurred but then I think how do they know I am ok without being to see inside my body. I am having counselling at the moment which is helping. At this present time I have a mild virus with a heavy fuzzy head, sore throat etc But I think it's more serious. I wish I could just get on with things!!
