good to know says: Overactive bladder syndrome is very common, particularly in women. One in six adults have an overactive bladder. The main symptoms are a suddenly urgency to use the loo and leaking urine, if you can't get there on time. You may also feel the need to constantly pass urine, even at night. The causes of overactive bladder syndrome aren't clear, but stress, caffeine and alcohol can make symptoms worse. Medication to relax the bladder, pelvic floor exercises and bladder training, which includes keeping a detailed diary, can really help. See your GP.
