Epidermoid and pilar cysts

Epidermoid and pilar cysts

goodtoknow says: An epidermoid cyst is a small sac filled with fluid that shows up as smooth lumps under the skin. They can appear on different parts of the body. They are sometimes, wrongly, called sebaceous cysts and can affect anyone, although are most common in young and middle-aged adults. Occasionally they leak or become infected, but normally they are harmless and can be left alone. Epidermoid cysts do not spread to any other part of the body and are, in no way cancerous.

For a full medical explanation of the causes, symptoms and treatments of epidermoid and pilar cysts from patient.co.uk, read on.
