goodtoknow says: Bullous pemphigoid is a condition that makes the skin blister. It's a type of autoimmune disease, where the body mistakes itself as a foreign body and attacks itself. It tends to affect people over the age of 60 and is very rare. It is not infectious. The main symptoms are patches of itchy skin, usually on the arms, legs or groin. The usual treatment is to take steroid tablets, which reduce the blisters.
