Dealing with insect stings
The best remedy I know is to remove the sting immediately, then gently rub in ordinary household paraffin. This takes away the pain, inflammation and swelling within a few seconds. I used this on my grandson recently after he was stung by a wasp, and it was used on me as a child when I disturbed a hornets' nest and received many stings. I am allergic to wasps and it works on me, but I still take an anti-histamine tablet to be sure.

Its really good to here tips like this, when my niece was on holiday with us, she was stung by a wasp, luckly a nurse was camping next to us. She made sure the sting was out and then cut one onion in half, and gently rubed it over the area, swelling/reddness was gone shortly.

Those seem like great tips to me, and the wasps have been coming out earlier and dying off later in recent years so I'm sure I'll get a chance to use them!
