A week before my period's due, I take ginger in any form especially ginger biscuits. I find this stops me being too irritable and stops me bloating too much.

Even better is ginger tea- make your own Grate or slice cube of fresh ginger, add slice or squeeze lemon, cover with boiling water, leave to "draw" for a minute, strain into mug, add honey or sweetener to taste-lovely!
