Diabetes is a condition where the body is unable to control the levels of sugar in the blood. This means that abnormally high levels of sugar can develop in the bloodstream, with potentially serious consequences if left untreated.
Diabetes is actually quite common, affecting more than 600,000 people in the UK, of whom over 30,000 are children!
