Boosts your concentration

The levels of caffeine in coffee make you more alert and actually improve your concentration - this is a really important thing to remember if you feel drowsy when you're driving.

The Department of Transport advises you to stop driving and then drink two cups of coffee, if you find yourself losing focus while you're at the wheel.

Lowers suicide risk

Studies in California say that the risk of suicide drops by 13% or every cup you drink, up to a certain point. Separate research has shown that women who drink two cups of coffee a day are also half as likely to commit suicide.

Protection against disease

Some research has suggested that drinking coffee regularly may help against a range of conditions:
- Gallstones
- Kidney stones
- Type 2 diabetes
- Cirrhosis and liver damage
