Swine flu: US girl dies of virus
29 Apr 2009: A 23-month-old girl from Texas has become the first person outside of Mexico to die from swine flu.
Three more cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the UK - on top of the Scottish couple who were confirmed to have the flu earlier this week. The 3 new people with the flu have recently been to Mexico and are said to have mild symptoms.
More people are being tested in the UK and there have been other confirmed cases around the world.
Experts are still telling people not to panic - health secretary Alan Johnson said: 'It is too early to say whether the cases in Mexico and the US will lead to a pandemic.
'Scientists don't yet understand the extent to which cases in Mexico and the US are linked and are not yet able to make a complete assessment of the health implications of this new virus.'
He added that Britain is well prepared if the flu does spread.
Earlier today it was revealed that leaflets about swine flu will be sent to every house in UK.
