5 schools close due to swine flu
5 May 2009: 5 schools in the UK are temporarily closed because some of their pupils have swine flu.
3 schools in London, 1 in Devon and 1 in Gloucestershire were closed after pupils fell ill and were confirmed to have the virus.
There are now 27 confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK and over 300 people are being tested for it.
Swine flu has now infected 1,447 people in 20 different countries.
Leaflets with information on swine flu and how to prevent its spread will be delivered to houses in the UK this week.
