Each week we team up with Woman's Weekly magazine to look at different health conditions. This week we look at ways to cope with rosacea.
The Sher System
Rosacea is a skin condition that causes redness and swelling on the face. The Helen Sher system includes splashing the face daily with warm water up to 20 times and applying a lavender-based serum and moisturiser, as well as advice on sunscreen, vitamin supplements and diet. Apparently, 96% of women who used this system successfully treated their rosacea.

Ayurvedic herbs
Manjishta is an ayurvedic herb with antibacterial properties that reduces redness and helps to get rid of pimples and inflammation. Neem and sarsaparilla are both herbs often used for skin conditions, such as rosacea, eczema and acne.
Try: Pukka Herbs Neem & Sarsaparilla Formula (£14.45 for 90 capsules, from health stores, Holland & Barrett, or call 0845 375 1744, or visit www.pukkaherbs.com) is an organic formula that contains manjishta. Take two capsules, three times a day for up to a year. Avoid if pregnant.
Caper extract
In clinical trials, a range of skin products based on extract of capers, and including an antioxidant called NDGA, reduced skin redness and sensitivity by 70%.
Try: The Kalme rosacea skincare range costs £59.99. It includes a day cream with SPF25, nourishing night cream, water-free cream cleanser and medicated tinted moisturiser. Call 0871 871 9975, or visit www.skinshop.co.uk
