Men's health: Cancers
Almost all cancers can affect men (even breast) but here are some of the most common:
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, especially those over 65.
Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in the UK. Lung cancer rates in men are falling because fewer men are smoking, but still more than 38,000 people are diagnosed with it every year.
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer affecting men between 20 and 39 years old, but only around 2,100 people are diagnosed with it each year.
Bowel cancer is one of the biggest cancers affecting both men and women - someone is diagnosed with this every 15 minutes in the UK.
Bladder cancer is the 6th most common cancer in the UK and is much more common in men then in women.
Stomach cancer is much more common in people over 55 - only about 3% of cancers diagnosed are stomach cancer.
