Ask Dr Chris: Cystitis and tattoo removal
Every week we partner up with our sister magazine, Woman, to bring you expert health advice from This Morning's Dr Chris Steele MBE, health journalist of the year. This week he answers your questions about cystitis and tattoo removal.
The problem: 'My cystitis is getting worse'
I often get cystitis, but the pain is now worse. How do I know if it's more than a bladder infection?
The solution
Sounds like you still have an infection, but maybe it's a more aggressive bug, causing more severe symptoms. See your GP, who will send samples of your urine to be analysed. Meanwhile, make sure you drink plenty of fluids, especially cranberry juice, which can ease the symptoms by preventing the bugs that cause cystitis.
The problem: 'I want my tattoos removed'
Do you know if tattoo removal creams work? Are they safe to use? I don't know how to get any information I can really trust.
The solution
I hate to admit this, but I don't really know! As you need a reliable answer, you should ask your GP to refer you to a local dermatologist to discuss your tattoo removal. The internet may provide answers, but you should try websites provided by dermatologists for reliable answers.
