Dorien Parry, 27 days

I'm a 46 year old woman and have suffered severe chrohn's disease as well as ulcerative colitis since I was 19 years old and have had 8 bowel resections. More recently I was diagnosed with arthritis and jogrens syndrome so have been unwell for some time. I now no longer have the ability to absorb food as I once did and this is taking it out on my hair. I have managed to grow my hair to just below my shoulders, which took ages, I have recently started riding a motorcycle, I have found that will wearing the helmet my hair is starting to suffer, it gets severely tangled and I lose quite a bit of hair when i'm brushing the knots out. Help!! Is there anything I can do to stop this? I am getting married next year and would love to have lovely hair.
