Woman's Weekly Wellbeing: Psoriasis
Every week we team up with our sister magazine Woman's Weekly and look at a health condition, offering wellbeing tips and simple ways to ease the problem. This week it's psoriasis.
Aloe vera
With its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, aloe vera is useful for a whole range of skin conditions. Recent research showed that patients with plaque psoriasis treated with aloe vera had less severe psoriasis than those using a topical steroid.

The water in the Dead Sea seems to relieve psoriasis, but then it does have ten times more salt than ocean water and more mineral salts. Thermal springs also have these minerals, and in one study two-thirds of those having thermal baths had less psoriasis three months later. It may help to add Dead Sea salts to your bath.
