Jordan dropped from breast cancer campaign
Asda has dropped Jordan as the face of their breast cancer campaign because of complaints from cancer sufferers over comments she made in her television show
Jordan - real name Katie Price - posed in her lingerie for photographs to promote her underwear range and to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the store's Tickled Pink campaign.
But cancer sufferers were outraged by the model's behaviour on her television show What Katie Did Next, as she moaned about the scars on her breasts caused by repeated cosmetic breast implant surgery.
The backlash has prompted Asda to remove Jordan from all publicity shots for the campaign, but they will still sell her underwear in the stores to help raise money for breast cancer charities.
Asda spokeswoman Leah Watson said: 'Nobody was happy with what Katie said on the show, especially us.
'We won't be using Katie in any publicity shots. The lingerie range will still be in store so that there is still have the chance to raise money.'
Sharon Adams, who had pushed for Price to be removed from the campaign, said: 'That is excellent news. Now we would like Price to donate some of the huge profits she makes from her lingerie range in Asda to breast cancer awareness.'
Katie Price has since issued an apology.
Her comments have prompted us to have a much deeper think about the emotional and physical scars left by breast cancer. This week we will be reporting further on this, so if you have a breast cancer story or experience you'd like to share with us, please do leave a comment below, or email us at goodtoknow@ipcmedia.com
