In reply to chrissys idea...my hubby falls asleep watching cartoons quietly on the telly!!! So it works for him but I dont find that helps me unfortunately! I know it sounds silly but like chidren and babies a sound like a ticking clock relaxes me!

I have dealt with sleeping problems for some time now. I decided this is derived from stress and worrying about too many things before i got to bed. I tried a variety of things to help me sleep with no success. eventually a friend recommended sound therapy and this actually works for me, i try to just focus on the sounds and i seem to forget about my stresses and fall asleep. there are tons of different sound therapies out there i personally use mp3's from Prescription Audio.

I get to sleep OK but then wake up in the early hours with my brain running through the day before, or worrying about things that I didn't get done .. or things I mustn't forget to do the next day. I find it really hard to get back to sleep as I'm worried that I'm going to forget something important the next day ... ... have eased this a bit by putting a pencil and paper next to the bed. I find that if I write it down then I can get back to sleep as I know I won't have forgotten it in the morning.
