Bacterial prostatitis
goodtoknow says: Bacterial prostatitis is an infection of the prostate. There are two types: acute and bacterial, both of which are relatively uncommon. As the name suggests, the cause is usually bacteria that live in the bowel. Both types of the condition are treated with antibiotics and this normally clears it up completely. Getting prostatitis does not increase the likelihood of contracting prostate cancer.
