Testicular cancer (cancer of the testes)

goodtoknow says: The first symptom of testicular cancer is a painful lump on one testis. But don't panic because if you have testicular cancer there's a good chance you will be cured. Most cases are diagnosed early and are treated quickly with surgery. Even if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body your chances of a cure are still much better than with other cancers. Testicular cancer mainly affects men aged 20-40 so it's important that young men know the signs and report any changes or lumps on their testicles to their GP.

Melanoma

goodtoknow says: Melanoma is a type of skin cancer. Around 6 in 10 cases are caused by sun damage although it can also be genetic. It starts as a small dark patch on your skin that forms on a mole or on a normal part of your skin. If you have moles watch out for any changes in size, shape or colour. Melanoma can often be removed, and the cancer cured, with a very simple operation. But it's far better to avoid it by staying out of the sun and using a suncream with a factor of 15 or more.
