Dr Martin Edwards, GP, on bursitis (Baker's cysts)
'Baker's cysts are named after the doctor who discovered them and are collections of fluid behind the knees. The cysts themselves are harmless, although they can be painful if they burst. They do, however, normally indicate there's some osteoarthritis in your joints which you can treat with exercises and painkillers.'
