Coping with autism
Our 10-year-old son has autism and often gets upset and anxious. We discovered that using a projector to create coloured light patterns on walls calms him down and stimulates him too.

My daughter is autistic and has trouble using a computer mouse because she has motor control problems. We bought her a trackball instead and she finds it so much easier to use the computer now. We bought a Kensington Orbit Optical Trackball from PC World for £19.99.

My son is 2 and a half and is not yet talking, The only word he uses is "look" and points to what he wants you to look at. He has aid the odd word like "lightweight" and "going now" and just about says "hello" but not clearly. He kisses and sits with us and watches his dvd's but only when he wants too, He is sociable with other children but does also like to play by himself at times and especially likes cars and trains which he lines up in diffrent ways and also sometimes makes car noises, he can do puzzels by himself. He does not always respond to his name but he understands the word "no" but he will get into a tantrum at time and slap his head but he will not do this hard. He has a few appointments with speciallist but not til end of December and Im dead worried. Im so scared of what the outcome will be and Im not sure on levels of Autism there are, does anyone think that this sounds like he is Autistic? My main concern is him not talking but I am very worried.
