Treating corns and calluses

Treating corns and calluses

The easiest way to deal with corns and hard skin is with a chiropody sponge. Try Newtons Foot Therapy chiropody sponge, £2.45 from chemists.
Lisa Watson, 64, Willenhall, West Midlands

This may sound odd, but if I get corns, I use my Gran's method of crushing five aspirin into powder, then mix with half a teaspoon of lemon juice and half a teaspoon of water to make a paste. Smooth it on to the corns, wrap in a towel and cover with a plastic bag. The aspirin helps soften the skin and makes it easier to pumice off the callus. [Don't try this if you're allergic to aspirin].
