If you're weaning over the warmer months, these cooling banana yogurt pops are a lovely way to introduce your baby to new textures and a cooling treat.
For young babies that are not onto solids yet, you can give these frozen treats to you baby inside a baby-safe feeder. It looks like a large dummy and you can place the food inside it, in a soft mesh you baby can suck and chew on. As well as being a nice way to give your child cooling food, it helps them to learn to chew food safely, rather than just biting off and trying to swallow. Plus it's a great way to give them something soothing during teething stages.
Ingredients
- 1 cup banana puree (made from 2 very ripe bananas)
- 1 cup plain yogurt

Method
- Blend and/or puree until you have a smooth liquid.
- Pour mixture into ice cube trays and freeze until solid. Pop out a cube or 2 and add to a baby safe feeder.
Top tip for making cooling banana yogurt pops
These don't have an upper age limit! Once you child is a little further along, you can simple stick a lolly stick in the top and give it to them as an ice pop.
What other fruits can I make these cooling pops with?
If your baby likes chilled foods, you can try this with almost any of our baby food purée recipes, but fruits like blueberry, peach and papaya are especially lovely.
