  2. Meanwhile, stir the pasta into a pan of boiling salted water and cook according to pack instructions, until just tender. Drain, then put it back in the pan. Set the grill to hot.
  3. Stir the pasta into the sauce, then break the tuna into large flakes and gently mix in. Spoon into the dish. Crush the crisps in the bag and sprinkle them over the top, with the cheese.
  4. Put the dish on a baking tray and grill for about 5 minutes until the cheese has melted and turned golden brown. Serve hot with salad or greens.

Top tips for making tuna pasta bake

The same quantity of cooked peas or green beans would work just as well as a substitute for sweetcorn. You could also leave the sweetcorn out. Just make sure you serve the pasta bake with chopped vegetables or a side salad to make sure the kids are getting at least one of their five-a-day.

How to store leftover tuna pasta bake

Tuna pasta bake is great for making in bulk. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to two days and reheated in portions in the microwave or on low heat in the oven as a whole dish. Tuna pasta bake can be frozen too. Once cooked, leave to cool and then transfer into a freezer-safe container. You can freeze it as a whole or in portions.
