This boozy homemade brandy butter recipe is a must with Christmas pudding and mince pies. It's incredibly simple to make and much cheaper than the shop bought version! This recipe serves 4 people and will take only minutes to whip up - you really won't believe how easy it is! The recipe uses ingredients you more than likely already have in your kitchen cupboards (especially if you're an avid baker!) This Christmas favourite is just perfect served with mince pies, Christmas pudding, chocolate cake or even spooned on top of ice cream. Once you've tried this recipe, you'll never go back to shop-bought again.


  • 75g (3oz) softened butter
  • 75g (3oz) icing sugar
  • 2tbsp brandy

When making brandy butter, keep adding the brandy until you can not taste the butter.

  1. Cream together the butter and icing sugar until fluffy - you can do this by beating with a wooden spoon in a large mixing bowl or by using an electric hand whisk.
  2. Stir in the brandy.
  3. Refrigerate until you're ready to use.
